SNOWED IN

Posted by Picasa

This is a picture of our neighbors car which is buried. This drift in front of our door was three feet high, my pretty Christmas lighted bush is gone! My husband got up at 6:30 a.m., to shovel our short little driveway, he was finished at 9:00 a.m. He told me that the amount of snow on his service van made his van eight feet tall! I wanted a white Christmas but this is too much. I think I need to find my tuque now. Needless to say the highway's North of London are snow covered and treacherous, everything south is untouched of snow. My husband's office in Hamilton didn't see a flake of snow. North of London however is an entirely different matter. The highway between Goderich and Sarnia is closed. I have to do banking tonight because I am going on a trip with my mother tomorrow to St. Jacobs, something we booked in the Spring, will I be able to make it? Time will tell. It's still snowing, but the weather network promises that it will be over by this afternoon ... ya right and they told us we would only get 30 centimeters.

Great Scott! That's a lot of snow. I'm jealous. Send some my way, can ya? ;)

Seriously, be careful on those roads! If it snowed that much down here in East TN, just about everything would be shut down.

I feel your pain. On the ironic side, all of the snow we got on Tuesday is gone. It's been raining for two days. My kids were depressed because their snowman was gone. We might see some more this weekend.

I won't be driving anywhere, I'm sending my husband to do my banking. He doesn't mind driving in this. And I saw on the weather network that the East Coast was just a slushy mess ... but I'm sure your kids will have another chance to build a snowman soon, Christine.

And Thomma Lyn, I'll pack some up and send it your way if you really want it!! ;) Because I don't!

Update, trip is cancelled, which is silly because Kitchener didn't get any snow, and by tomorrow the roads will be cleared ... but the bus company cancelled the trip. Sigh. Guess I'll go get my Turkey tomorrow.

Bummer about your trip, Amy.
Canadian winters sure have changed since I was a kid!!
Up here in Newmarket, we had a dusting, then melted, then night before last it snowed all night but only about 1 inch accumulated. It's starting to warm up again and the grass is peaking through.
I really want a white Xmas and will be seriously MIFFED if the little we have melts!! Or hey - I can come spend Xmas with YOU! ;D
Will I see you on Saturday at the social?

Paula (I'm having the same 'anonymous' issue as Thomma Lyn!!!)

Oh my godness Amy. Luckily our side of the Lake didn't get that much. Yikes hon! Sorry to hear about your trip, but at least Olorin and Cathy will keep you entertained while you crit away on my prolouge and chapter one. At least, I hope they will :-). Take care and take your daughter outside to make a couple of snow angels. I promised PJ I'd do the same when he's done with school if he stopped throwing snowballs at his friends while he waited in line :-).

No, I can't make the social on Saturday. No babysitters and I don't think I'm ready to traverse the trek to Toronto on my own. I wish I was able to go.

Marguerite I think Olorin and Cathy will keep me busy. Brianna hasn't figured out snowballs yet, she just likes to use her little Dora shovel to "help" Daddy by covering up his van. ;)

Paula, sure come here if the snow up your way melts we have lots!
